Hevea Act 2: Devil’s Milk (Publication), 2021
2 colour risograph print, edition of 100. Design: Jan Kiesswetter
Publication to accompany the exhibition, Hevea Act 2:
“Spring 2021, an image circulates on twitter befre going viral. It shows two latex gloves ballooned with hot water, gently clasped around the hand of a patient who lies, isolated out of necessity, on a Covid-19 hospital ward. Dubbed the Hand of God by its inventor, a Brazilian nurse named Semei Araújo Cunha, it is intended to simulate human touch for those starved of contact; a way to comfort, to close the gap once more. Tears of the tree, hand of god, devil’s milk.”
